Respiratory Health and Eucalyptus

Respiratory and Asthma Problems

For problems such as asthma, allergies, sinusitis, or bronchitis, you can rub Eucalyptus on the chest and under the nose to open bronchial passageways and loosen congestion. Eucalyptus rejuvenates red blood cell functioning, creating more oxygen for the lungs. You can also spray it on your pillow at night to help keep airways open.

Use Eucalyptus as an Air Purifier

To Purify the Air in a Room

Purified air is very important for someone with chronic or serious respiratory disorders. Spray Eucalyptus on a napkin and clip to any fan or register or simply add to a humidifier.  Oil of Eucalyptus is known for its benefits in pulmonary health. The purer air an individual with respiratory issues is breathing, the less problems/restrictions they will experience.

Eucalyptus Dust Mite Spray

To Kill Dust Mites

Approximately 6–8 drops of Eucalyptus oil added to your hot rinse cycle will kill dust mites which can aggravate respiratory problems. You may also mix 1 oz. of Eucalyptus oil with 7 oz. distilled water in a spray bottle, shake well and spray your mattress, sheets and pillows once a week. Whenever I travelled, I always carried my Eucalyptus oil and sprayed the carpet, bedspread and bed sheets in my hotel room before I settled in for the evening.

Eucalyptus rub for headaches

For Fever Reduction

Apply on chest and forehead, avoiding the eyes. For young children, apply very little, as Eucalyptus may cause chills. (Not recommended for children under 2 years of age) You can also soak in the tub with Eucalyptus oil for fever reduction.

Use Eucalyptus for Sores, Cuts or Abrasions

Eucalyptus beneficial effects has been credited for staph infection reduction. If applied to bruising a couple of times a day has resulted in the discoloration of bruising more quickly.

Use Eucalyptus Oil as Insect Repellent and Bug Spray

Use Eucalyptus Oil as an Insect Repellent

Eucalyptus spray repels flies and mosquitoes, as well as fleas and ticks for your pets. Apply the oil to exposed areas of your skin before heading outdoors. For your pet, spray between the shoulder blades and on their bedding. Insects cannot tolerate the strong medicinal eucalyptus fragrance so therefore, repelled by it, making your outdoor activities more tolerable and worry free.

Soak in the bath with Eucalyptus. Use 2 tablespoons in a tub of hot water to open sinus and bronchial passageways. Soaking for at least 10 minutes will allow Eucalyptus to enter through the pores, relaxing muscles and relieving aches and pains. It will also soothe your mental state and balance your emotions! Eucalyptus Balm

The biggest difference between the Eucalyptus oil and balm is the versatility, however I combined the additional essential oils of peppermint, wintergreen and clove bud along with my natural Peppermint menthol blend, enhance and compliment the Eucalyptus Balm!

The result is a highly concentrated pain relief product. The cosmetic grade beeswax used in the balm seems to seal the beneficial effects of the individual essential oils in the area to which it is applied.

Use Eucalyptus Balm for:

Pain Relief Remedy

Simply rub into the area of discomfort for 1–3 minutes…again, the longer you massage in the eucalyptus balm, the more quickly you will feel its effects.

Respiratory and Asthma Problems

Eucalyptus Balm for the ElderlyThe Eucalyptus balm, with its three additional essential oils, creates a warming sensation followed by cooling.  Apply to the chest and/or under the nose for maximum effectiveness.  Avoid the eye area and open wounds.

Because each individual is unique when it comes to body chemistry and the way we absorb products, both the Eucalyptus balm or oil will work for pain, and both will work for respiratory…it’s simply a matter of which one is going to work best for you!

Author“I find the “Koala” Eucalyptus Balm to be so helpful with the pain and discomfort in the spine and wrist where bones have been fractured.”
